Draw or paint the Maine coast on this unique
little island, complete with docks, lobster boats, beaches, coves, deep woods,
and down-east friendly people. Other island amenities include an excellent
library, golf, tennis, boating and more. The class will be conducted on site at
a variety of locales as well as on the grounds of the Chebeague Orchard B and B,
which boasts an open view of the ocean in front and orchard in back. Expect to
do several drawings or paintings each day. Following a short talk or
demonstration each morning, individual guidance will be given throughout the
day. Most demonstrations will be in pastel, but students experienced in other
media are welcome to work in the medium of their choice. Group talks will cover
fundamental concepts of drawing, perspective, values, composition and color,
which apply to all media. Critiques and advice will be tailored for the
individual’s particular level and interests. The goal is to increase your
drawing/painting skill and discover personal significance in each piece while
having a good time.
This workshop is appropriate for beginners to professional artists.
Additional information and supply lists will be sent to registered students.
